Individual therapy at NEAR Counseling and Wellness is collaborative, thoughtful, and tailored to your unique needs and goals. Sessions provide space to slow down, reflect, and better understand the emotional, relational, and behavioral patterns that may be impacting your daily life.
NEAR Counseling and Wellness provides individual therapy, somatic psychotherapy, and mindfulness-based counseling for adolescents and adults in Doylestown, Bucks County, and throughout Pennsylvania via telehealth. Whether you are navigating anxiety, trauma, chronic stress, burnout, relationship challenges, or life transitions, therapy offers a space to better understand yourself and create meaningful, lasting change.
While conversation and reflection are central to the work, therapy may also incorporate somatic and mindfulness-based practices to support greater awareness of the connection between emotional and physical experience. These approaches are integrated gently and collaboratively, always with your comfort and goals in mind.
Research suggests that lasting change often involves more than insight alone. Integrating psychotherapy with mindfulness, body awareness, and nervous system regulation can support greater emotional flexibility, resilience, and the ability to respond to life's challenges in new ways. At NEAR, these practices are woven into therapy thoughtfully and collaboratively, always based on your individual needs and comfort level.
Depending on your needs, sessions may include:
Therapy provides a space to explore your thoughts, emotions, relationships, and experiences with support and curiosity. Through discussion and reflection, we work toward greater understanding and insight.
Somatic psychotherapy recognizes that our experiences are held not only in our mind but also in the body and nervous system. Gentle movement and somatic awareness help increase connection to the body by noticing physical sensations, patterns of tension, breath, posture, and nervous system responses. Many people living with anxiety, trauma, chronic stress, or emotional overwhelm experience these challenges physically as well as mentally. By bringing awareness to these experiences, we can begin to develop greater flexibility, regulation, and resilience rather than relying on automatic survival patterns.
Simple breathing techniques may be used to support grounding, emotional regulation, and nervous system awareness. Breath can influence the way the body responds to stress and may help create a greater sense of steadiness and presence.
Mindfulness involves gently paying attention to present-moment experience without judgment. These practices can support increased awareness of thoughts, emotions, physical sensations, and behavioral patterns while helping reduce automatic reactivity.
Visualization techniques may be used to support relaxation, emotional processing, grounding, or the development of internal resources and coping strategies. These practices are always collaborative and adapted to your comfort level.
Individual Psychotherapy: $170 per 50-minute session.
