FAQs

Q. Where are you located?

A. We are conveniently located in Doylestown at 256 N. West St., with free off-street parking. I offer both in-person and telehealth appointments.

Q. What happens during the first session?

A. The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a foundation for our work together. We will complete an initial intake to better understand your current concerns, personal history, and what you hope to gain from therapy. We'll explore what has brought you here, discuss your goals, and identify patterns or challenges that may be contributing to feeling stuck.

There is no expectation that you share everything at once or revisit painful experiences before you're ready. You are welcome to move at a pace that feels comfortable, and it's completely okay if you don't know exactly where to begin. My role is to guide the conversation with curiosity and collaboration.

We'll also talk about how I work and whether my integrative approach, which combines psychotherapy with somatic and mindfulness-based practices, feels like a good fit for your needs. Many clients leave the first session with a greater understanding of their experiences, a sense of direction, and the reassurance that they don't have to navigate the healing process alone.

Q. How is somatic therapy different from talk therapy?

A. In addition to conversation, this approach includes awareness of how thoughts and emotions are experienced in the body. This can include gentle, body-based approaches that support regulation and self-awareness—such as noticing physical sensations, breathing or relaxation exercises, visualization, and, when appropriate, light movement.

Q. Do I have to participate in body-based techniques?
A. No. All sessions are tailored to your needs and comfort. Somatic approaches are always optional, and we can shift to traditional talk therapy at any time.

Q. Do I have to talk about my trauma?

A. No. Therapy is not about forcing you to relive painful experiences. We focus on creating safety and building resources first, allowing you to decide what and when you want to share. Healing can happen without recounting every detail.

Q. How much does a session cost, and what are the payment options?

A. My rate is $170 for a traditional 50-minute session. I am a private pay practice. I accept cash, checks, all major credit cards (American Express, Discover, Visa, and MasterCard), as well as Venmo and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) payments. I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. A limited number of sliding-scale spots are available based on need.

Q. Is what I share kept private?

A. Yes. Sessions are confidential and take place in a quiet, private setting. This is a space where you can speak openly and be met with respect and care. There are a few legal limits to confidentiality, which we’ll review together at the start of our work.

Q. What if I don't know what to talk about?

A. That’s completely okay. Many people come in unsure where to begin. Part of the work is slowing down and noticing what’s coming up, and we can start there together.

Q. Can you work with my psychiatrist or other providers?

A. Yes. With your consent, I’m happy to collaborate with psychiatrists and other healthcare providers to support continuity of care.

Q. Do you offer crisis or emergency services?

A. I provide outpatient therapy and am not able to offer crisis or emergency services. If you are in immediate need, call or text 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, call 911, or visit your nearest emergency room.
