This journey began for me more than two decades ago through my personal experience with yoga during my own challenging seasons of life. What started as a physical practice gradually became a deeper interest in the connection between the body and mind, leading me to study the philosophy and psychology of yoga and the ways these practices can support self-awareness, resilience, growth, and overall health. Over the years, this evolved into a broader passion for helping others discover the relationship between the mind and body.
My background reflects that continued pursuit of understanding this connection. I have a foundation in anatomy and physiology, including a degree in nutrition and dietetics. I am a 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-500) and currently training as a yoga therapist, which continues to shape how I understand the body and its interconnected systems. I am also formally trained in massage therapy, which deepened my understanding of how emotional and behavioral patterns can become reflected physically through tension, posture, breath, and other physical responses.
I hold a Master’s degree in School Counseling from Gwynedd Mercy University, where I developed a deeper understanding of human development and the ways early experiences shape identity, relationships, and emotional and behavioral responses. I began my counseling work supporting neurodivergent students, which strengthened my ability to provide attuned, developmentally responsive care. This work also expanded my interest in interoception, the ability to notice and understand internal body signals, and the role it plays in emotional understanding and regulation.
Eventually, I felt called toward clinical work and transitioned into private practice, where I now work with individuals navigating anxiety, stress, shame, nervous system overwhelm, and the impact of developmental and relational experiences. My work is trauma-informed and continues to be shaped by ongoing advanced training.
This work is deeply meaningful to me, through years of personal and professional experience, I have witnessed how much people can change when they begin to understand themselves through curiosity and compassion. Through my own lived experience, I understand how incredibly painful it can be to feel like you are barely holding it together, isolated, or alone in your experiences. While therapy cannot remove every difficulty in life, it can create space for meaningful change, deeper connection, increased capacity to navigate challenges, and a different way of relating to yourself and others. It is my intention that the work we do together helps you feel supported, more connected, and empowered to make lasting changes that align with your goals.
If you’re curious about working together, I offer a free, non-obligatory consultation to help you get a sense of whether this approach feels right for you.
A Note on Services & Collaboration
I provide outpatient psychotherapy and integrate somatic (body-based) approaches into the work when appropriate. If a higher level of care is needed, I will make appropriate referrals to ensure clients receive the support they need. With client consent, I welcome collaboration with psychiatrists and other providers to support continuity of care.
